Job Title: Payroll Support Specialist

Job Location: 17725 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77094

Job Overview:

The Payroll Specialist is responsible for, but not limited to, administrative support for the franchise locations’ payroll function serving 300+ stores in 30+ states with over 2500 employees. Candidate must be a highly motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter and able to multi-task effectively with excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.

The most important qualification may be a heart for service towards our franchisees. Our goal is to help our valued franchisees successfully navigate business operations like payroll processing. Payroll is especially important because it also serves the employees of each location.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Provide payroll system support for stores in a multi-state environment
  • Fielding inquiries to assist with updating Payroll system, Healthcare deductions, and company databases for new hires, terminations, and other changes
  • Answering inquiries and following up with Franchisees on Payroll issues and procedures
  • Training and directing Franchisees in preparation of account analysis and other payroll software reports
  • Answering inquiries and following up with Franchisees over accounting issues and procedures
  • Assisting Benefits Administrator with employee change updates 
  • Assisting in the reconciliation of financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information
  • Coordinating with other internal departments to correctly process various intercompany payroll liabilities and reconciliations
  • Facilitate account set up in the payroll system for new franchise entities.

Qualifications

  • College education and/or 3 – 5 years prior Payroll & Benefits experience
  • Payroll, Payroll Tax in multi-state environment preferred. Good understanding of fundamental accounting principles.
  • Familiarity with Federal, State & Local Payroll Tax filings
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service experience
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Occasionally bending, twisting, and turning.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
