JOB SUMMARY
This position is responsible for managing a group of technical engineers and technicians that are accountable for process improvement, control and standardization in key areas within the investment casting process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Follow Howmet Aerospace’s EHS requirements along with all department specific safety requirements.
- Prioritize, guide, and facilitate the activities of the process owner team to meet organizational goals, objectives, and requirements.
- Oversee the development of standard policies, procedures and practices to ensure the processes within the Wax, Monoshell, Casting and Post Cast operations are standardized and controlled.
- Assure flow down of industry, customer, and corporate standards as they relate to the process owner team’s areas of responsibility.
- Establish and maintain the process owner team’s performance metrics and reporting systems.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job responsibilities and duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Drive process improvements by promoting best practice methodologies and new technologies.
- Ensure team development and support an active training environment.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews of engineers and technicians within the process owner team.
- Ensure the timely and effective resolution of issues resulting from internal, peer, and external audits.
- Lead the plant and incorporate process owner initiatives to improve production processes and to reduce costs.
- Perform other work as assigned.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of five years of Investment casting industry or related industry experience.
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree.
- Must possess exceptional written, oral communication, and presentation skills.
- Six Sigma green belt and/or black belt preferred (commitment to achieve green belt status within 24 months required).
- Must be able to read blueprints and conceptualize product configurations.
- Must be able to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations including statistical analysis theory and techniques.
- Must be a self-starter, manage time effectively and meet deliverable deadlines.
- Must be a leader that positively represents Howmet Aerospace and influences internal personnel to represent our company in a professional and business-like manner.
- Must have demonstrated ability to create trustworthy relationships and energize teams.
