Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support the learning and development of elementary students in an Aurora, CO school setting. This contract position will span the uping school year and focuses on delivering individualized instruction tailored to the unique needs of students with diverse learning challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) that align with state and federal guidelines.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, specialists, and families to create inclusive classroom environments.
- Monitor student progress regularly, adapting instructional methods to meet evolving needs.
- Maintain clear and up-to-date documentation of student achievements and challenges.
- Facilitate behavioral interventions and provide support to foster social and emotional growth.
- Participate in professional development and team meetings to enhance instructional strategies.
Qualifications:
- Valid Colorado Special Education teaching certification.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in special education settings.
- Strong knowledge of differentiated instruction and inclusive education practices.
- Excellent munication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Ability to manage classroom dynamics and implement behavior management strategies.
