Duties/Responsibilities:

· Reviews, tracks, and documents compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training, continuing education, and work assessments. This may include safety training, anti-harassment training, professional licensure, exams and certifications.

· Recruits, interviews, and facilitates the hiring of qualified job applicants for open positions; collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for openings.

· Conducts or acquires background checks and employee eligibility verifications.

· Implements new hire orientation and employee recognition programs.

· Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, and leaves; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; occupational health and safety; and training and development.

· Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.

· Attends and participates in employee disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.

· Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.

· Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

· Handles routine employee relations and human resource inquiries related to policies, procedures, and refers complex matters to appropriate management staff.

· Serves as the initial contact and liaison for intake and assessment of employee questions & concerns.

· Conducts initial interviews and gathers information for employee relations matters such as harassment allegations, work complaints, or other concerns; informs appropriate HR staff when additional investigation is required.

· Assists with processing and recordkeeping related to hiring, terminations, leaves, workers compensation, transfers, and promotions.

· Collects information and data to assess pay scales and wages, benefits, and working conditions.

· Conducts surveys, interviews, and other research related to human resource policies and compensation and submits to Human Resources Director.

· Maintains knowledge and understanding of laws and regulations related to EEO, affirmative action, and other human resources guidelines.

· Creates training presentations and conducts ongoing supervisory training and development.

· Assists with the preparation of plans, policies, documents, and reports, including EEO-1, I-9, affirmative action plans, organizational charts, and employee handbooks.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Training: knowledge and skills

· Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.

· Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.

· Thorough understanding of laws, regulations, and guidelines related to HR

· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, DocuSign, Adobe, and/or related software.

Education and Experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Employee Relations, Business, Accounting, or related field required.

· At least three years of professional human resource administration skills required, with preferred experience in employee relations.

Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

· Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.

Must be able to work in-office, this is not a remote position.
