CONSTRUCTION ADMINISTRATION | Greater Washington, D.C. Area

Davis Carter Scott, Tysons, Virginia, is currently seeking a full-time Construction Administration professional with 5-years relevant experience to join an outstanding team and work on a diverse portfolio of large-scale commercial projects including some of the largest high-rise multi-family and mixed-use residential projects in the DC metro area.


Davis Carter Scott (DCS) is a full-service masterplanning, architecture and interior architecture firm located in Tysons, Virginia.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead role for Construction Administration process for assigned projects
  • On-site visits and observation of construction progress for conformance with Contract Documents
  • Attends construction meetings and prepares field reports
  • Collaborates with lead professionals on project (internal and external) to ensure design and documentation are in accordance with project expectations and requirements
  • Perform Shop Drawing reviews and Request for Information (RFI) evaluations
  • Timely response to Client and Contractor questions and RFI’s
  • Manages the project process with project consultants
  • Issue Architect’s supplementary information
  • Review change order proposals
  • Review and approval of material samples/submittals and substitution requests
  • Punch list preparation and / or review of contractor’s punch list
  • Work within the budgeted time allocated for construction phase
  • Directs issue resolution
  • Communication and reporting to internal and external team to enhance project quality

KEY QUALIFICATIONS | SKILLS

  • Bachelor's Degree, Architecture is required. Architectural Construction Management, Associate degree, Architecture Technology, from an accredited program will be considered.
  • MINIMUM Five (5) years of relevant field operations experience in construction administration in a variety of large scale commercial and multi-family projects and commercial building types is required.
  • Knowledge of project process to include codes, construction, jurisdictional process (zoning and building permits)
  • Technical knowledge to include understanding of requirements and relationships between building designs, systems, materials, trades and methods of construction.
  • Computer skills must include proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite; Revit skills desired.
  • Knowledge/experience with Newforma, Bluebeam and web-based construction administration programs such as Procore, and E-Builder
  • Effective problem solving and interpersonal skills and diplomacy
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented, highly organized
  • Ability to prioritize and concurrently service multiple projects
  • Ambitious, creative, independent, and professional
  • Driver’s license required for travel to project sites and meetings
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
