Job DescriptionPosition: Tax Controversy/Business Litigation Paralegal
Type: Full-time, in-office
Exemption Status: Non-exempt (eligible for overtime)
Location: Downtown Dallas, 5 days per week
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary ranges from $90,000 - $110,000 DOE
- Discretionary Bonus (merit-based)
- Paid Parking
- Health Insurance: United Healthcare (Traditional PPO + Buy-Up option)
- HSA: Employer contributions included
- 401(k): Fidelity with partial company match
- Paid Holidays: 11 annually
- Accrues at 1 day per month in the first year (up to 10 days)
- 10 vacation days per year (use-it-or-lose-it)
- Unused personal days may be paid out
Workload & Billables
- Billable Requirement: 140 hours per month
- Overtime: Will be eligible for overtime pay
Tools & Systems
- Disco (document review and litigation support)
- Elite (billing/timekeeping)
- PACER (federal court filings)
Hard Skills (Must-Haves)
- 5 years of litigation paralegal experience at a Texas Law Firm
- Experience supporting tax litigation, white-collar controversy, or business-to-business disputes
- High-volume document drafting and filing experience
- Ability to support multiple partners simultaneously
- Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize shifting deadlines
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or Paralegal Certificate (ABA approved program)
- E-Discovery advanced experience is ESSENTIAL
- E-Discovery certification OR willing to take ACEDS e-discovery course and maintain certification with CL
Soft Skills (Critical for Success)
- Highly organized and proactive
- Quick on their feet; able to anticipate attorney needs
- Strong backbone and confident communicator
- Excellent judgment and discretion
- Polished, professional communication style
- Ability to keep pace with a demanding workflow
- Comfortable working in the office five days per week
