Under the leadership of the Children’s National Hospital (CNH) Operations Manager, the Operations Supervisor
is responsible to be able to fill the role as a CNH Emergency Vehicle Operators (EVOs) first and foremost, and is
responsible for ensuring field operations teams conduct daily operations at CNH in a manner that provides
excellent customer service, follows all safety procedures and policies, and maintains compliance with all federal,
state, and local requirements and regulatory/licensing agencies. The Operations Supervisor will ensure that team
members have all the necessary equipment, resources, licensing/credentials, and training to complete their
patient care and assigned transports in a proper and efficient manner that meets our contractual and customer
service standards, and that crews and vehicles are compliant with all local, state, and federal regulations.
The Operations Supervisor will be entrusted with a split role, with 40% of their role being direct supervision and
the first line of contact for not only EVOs but also the CMH clinical crews to ensure the fleet is always operationally
ready. If deficiencies are found, the Operations Supervisor will ensure that there is a plan of action in place to
rectify them as soon as possible, and that the plan has been effectively communicated to all stake holders.
The Operations Supervisor leadership shifts will rotate weekly on a two on four off basis, back filling in the absence
of the Operations Manager, the remaining two shifts in the work week will be assigned clinical shifts.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Provide excellent patient care within the scope of practice of an EMT EVO
· Provide Leadership & Oversight to all EVO’s
· Work as the Liaison with CNH DOTM Leadership, to advance the program
· Provide leadership and guidance to team members through communicating company initiatives,
addressing, and resolving concerns, and providing all tools and resources needed to complete
assignments in an efficient manner.
· Motivate, mentor and coach your team to ensure customer service, safety, and compliance standards
are met. Effectively address issues or concerns promptly and use critical thinking skills to remove
barriers or obstacles to achieving company goals.
· Address gaps in scheduling immediately and work with the BMT management team to use all available
resource to resolve schedule gaps, ensuring there is never a gap in coverage for an EVO. Supervisors
should be prepared to fill open shifts or gaps in coverage if needed at the last minute.
· Respond, investigate, and determine the root cause of vehicle accidents, employee injuries or other
liability concerns to reduce and eliminate hazardous work conditions and reduce total company
liabilities.
· Review late punches, and remediate crews on policies regarding lateness, and then begin progressive
disciplinary process.
· Complete Employee FIT Tests
· Serve as a Field Training Officer to New Employees
· Provide safe transport of the patient and crew
· Respond to emergent and non-emergent transports
· Provides effective communication with patients, dispatch, crews, family members, and facility staff
· Ability operation communication devices; portable radio, cell phone, computer tablet
· Ensure maintenance of vehicles and equipment for transport readiness
· Review Samsara AI Cammera’s & Complete Safety Retraining as needed
· Coordinate With Fleet Management to Rotate Trucks as Needed
· Respond to CNH Trouble Tickets Timely
· Maintain cleanliness of station
· Maintain certifications with timely completion of refresher courses and CMEs
· Remain current on all state protocols, policies, and/or procedures
· Represent BMT at community events as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
· Graduation From High School or equivalent
· At least 21 years old at time of hire for insurance purposes
· Current NREMT and State EMT (or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire)
· Obtain DC affiliation of EMT B through Butler Medical Transport within 30 days of hire
· Two years of EMT experience · Two years of EVO experience
· Must successfully complete the CNH EVO Orientation Program
· Valid driver’s license
· Ability to drive company vehicles with a clean driving record
· Successful completion of a state sponsored EVOS course or ability to obtain in 30 days
· Current AHA BLS CPR or ability to obtain within 10 days of hire
· Successful DC affiliation through Butler Medical Transport within 30 days of hire
· Successful completion of GEMS, NRP, and STABLE within 180 days of hire
· Ability to provide quality patient care within scope of practice
· Knowledge of all state protocols for an EMT
· Availability for recall in times of crisis
· Ability to work a rotating schedule with open availability
· Ability to pass a lift test of 150 – 200 pounds
· Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test
· Ability to pass a pre-employment background check
· Ability to speak and write English
