Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant performs the accounting and bookkeeping functions of property management. The position is responsible for the timely and accurate recording of all accounting transactions for assigned properties

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Processing tenant charges and receipts for assigned properties
  • Processing utility billing to tenants
  • Processing payments to vendors as well as tax, insurance, and loan and mortgage payments, etc.
  • Facilitate month end close process, prepare month-end reports timely and other reports as needed,
  • Prepare bank reconciliations for multiple property accounts
  • Maintain cash balances in accordance with client requirements and prepare transfer and funding requests
  • Participate in other special projects, as needed, and provide feedback for improving procedures and initiating quality and efficiency enhancements
  • Travel Requirement: This position does not require travel.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum Associates Degree in Accounting or a minimum of three years equivalent accounting work experience may be substituted in place of Degree.
  • Ability to maintain spreadsheets with Excel.
  • Knowledgeable with accounting software.
  • Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of personnel and external clients and vendors.
  • Experience in the Property Management industry and Yardi is a plus!
