We are seeking an enthusiastic and customer-focused Sales Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a knack for retail math, and experience with cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) systems. As a Sales Associate, you will play a vital role in delivering exceptional service to our customers while maintaining the store's operational efficiency.
*Duties*
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their shopping needs.
- Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately.
- Maintain knowledge of current promotions, policies regarding payment and exchanges, and security practices.
- Stock shelves and ensure that merchandise is displayed attractively.
- Utilize retail math skills to manage inventory levels effectively.
- Address customer inquiries via phone with professionalism and courtesy.
- Ensure the store environment is clean, organized, and welcoming for all customers.
*Qualifications*
- Retail sales experience, preferably in hardware and/or building materials
- Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods of time
- Must be able lift and handle large heavy items
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
- Proficiency in cash handling and operating a cash register or POS system.
- Basic understanding of retail math for inventory management.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Bilingual candidates are highly desirable to better serve our diverse customer base.
- Excellent phone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to providing outstanding customer service at all times.
