Salary Range:$36,500 - $38,000 (Based on experience and education)

TASC’s Youth & Family Services (YFS) division helps parents and young people who are striving to become healthy and restore their relationships. We partner with human services, child welfare systems, juvenile courts, and community-based service providers to help individuals and families obtain the services and skills they need to live in positive, healthy ways.

Position Summary: As an Chain of Custody, you will play an important role in ensuring accurate and confidential drug testing services for clients. You will observe collections, maintain proper documentation of chain of custody procedures, and assist in reporting and communication with agency staff and partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe urine collection from clients following all confidentiality and safety guidelines

  • Accurately document chain of custody procedures

  • Maintain and update the urinalysis log

  • Receive and distribute test results to appropriate staff or agencies

  • Serve as a liaison to the agency laboratory

  • Assist with the completion of monthly reports

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain professionalism in emotional or difficult client situations

  • Support additional tasks or responsibilities as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED

  • One to three years of related experience and/or training

  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered

  • Knowledge of chain of custody protocols

  • Familiarity with federal confidentiality codes, including 42 C.F.R. Part 2 and HIPAA

  • Ability to handle biohazardous materials safely

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work with a diverse population

  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to maintain confidentiality and openness to new ideas

  • Problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyze information and resolve issues in a timely manner

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet-based applications

  • Flexibility to work evenings/weekends and travel locally as needed

  • Availability to attend meetings and support client/program needs throughout the city or county
