Purchasing Manager | Walker, MI
Salary Range: $79,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost and quality.
- Source, evaluate, and manage relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with suppliers to achieve favorable agreements.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with production to ensure timely material availability.
- Identify and implement cost reduction initiatives without compromising quality or delivery.
- Ensure all purchased materials comply with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
- Manage supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to mitigate disruptions.
Recommended Qualifications
- Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in purchasing or supply chain management within a manufacturing environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in negotiation, vendor management, contract administration, and cost reduction strategies.
- Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and supply chain software.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, lean principles, and quality systems.
Bonus Qualifications
- Lean or Six Sigma certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
- Experience with international sourcing and global supply chain logistics
- Proficiency in a second language relevant to key supplier regions (e.g., Mandarin, Spanish, German)
