A contract opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide essential services at an elementary school setting. This position is based in Oakland, CA, and is ideal for professionals holding a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC), completing their Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY), or holding an SLP credential for school settings. The contract runs for the full school year, offering the chance to make a significant impact on young learners communication development.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting speech and language evaluations and assessments for elementary-aged students
- Developing and implementing individualized treatment plans tailored to students needs
- Collaborating with teachers, parents, and educational staff to support student progress
- Documenting and tracking student performance, maintaining accurate records in compliance with school policies
- Participating in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings and providing professional recommendations
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Certified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP-CCC), SLP Clinical Fellow (CFY), or SLP licensed for school practice
- Experience working with children in elementary school environments preferred
- Strong understanding of pediatric speech and language disorders and relevant therapy techniques
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills to work effectively with students, families, and educational teams
- Ability to adapt therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs
