ummary of Program and Position:
We believe that every child deserves bright and healthy futures. Early education plays a critical role during the important developmental period, especially among disadvantaged children. Investing in early education will have a tremendous impact on life outcomes and provide thriving futures for Hawaii’s young minds.
Federally funded initiatives provide early childhood education and related comprehensive services for low-income parents and children, and children with special needs. Early Head Start (EHS) provides services in centers and in homes to prenatal parents and parents with infants and toddlers.
Under the direct supervision of the Family Community Partnership Manager or Area Manager, the Data Entry/Administrative Assistant is responsible for developing and maintaining computerized records and statistics; maintaining family folders; greeting visitors; answering telephones; and providing clerical and administrative support.
Essential Job Duties:
1. Behaves in a manner that supports the agency's mission and follows personnel policies and procedures.
2. Develops and maintains records on program participants.
3. Reviews family folders for accuracy and completeness. Ensures procedures are followed when family folders are taken from and returned to file.
4. Manages the consumer database software currently in use and other data tracking software, accurately inputs and keeps information current.
5. Prepares monthly, quarterly, and annual statistics, including the annual Program Information Report (PIR) for the Office of Head Start.
6. Performs clerical and administrative tasks as assigned by the supervisor and as backup for other administrative staff.
7. Answers telephones in a courteous helpful manner at all times and takes messages or forwards calls as appropriate.
8. Greets public and visitors, notifying individuals of visitors arriving for meetings and interviews.
Minimum Qualifications:
-High School Diploma or equivalent, required.
-One (1) year experience in a clerical or data entry position, required.
Other:
1. Is able to obtain an acceptable FBI background check
2. Is able to obtain an acceptable CPS child abuse registry check
3. Has been tested and is negative for Tuberculosis, no older than 6 months prior to employment.
4. Has passed a physical examination no older than 6 months prior to employment.
