Job Description

Join a leading gear and gear-related manufacturing company based in Princeton, Indiana, supplying critical components to industries such as steel, bridge, aluminum, aggregate, and mining. As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating CNC and manual machine tools to complete parts, adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Program, set up, and operate CNC/Manual Machine Tools, including Schiess and Hankook brands.
• Understand and follow work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, and specifications.
• Perform programming on machine tools, including setting tools, registers, offsets, and compensation.
• Maintain specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements during machining processes.
• Perform preventive maintenance and assist in machine repairs.
• Measure first-run parts and sample parts to confirm settings.
• Complete required information in production, maintenance, and quality records.
• Maintain continuity among work shifts through effective communication.
• Care for and maintain machine tools and work area.

Essential Skills

• Understanding of geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
• Basic math, geometry, and trigonometry skills.
• Experience with CAM systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and adjust machining processes.
• Proficiency in drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, and thread chasing.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• College-level certificate in CNC machining.
• Significant experience in CNC machine work.
• Preferred experience with horizontal or vertical boring mills.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in CNC or Precision Machining.
• Knowledge of lathes, milling machines, gear cutting, and gear grinding machines.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to niche machining processes.

Work Environment

Work in a large machine shop environment where safety is prioritized with steel-toed boots required. Jeans and t-shirts are acceptable attire, with optional uniform services available. The role requires physical activity, including frequent lifting, pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Expect to be on-site during working hours and engage in regular communication with colleagues across shifts.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $56160.00 - $62400.00/yr.
