Geotemps is seeking a passionate, energetic, and reliable Tour Guide to join a team at one of Arizona’s largest operating copper mines. This unique role provides the opportunity to educate the public and professionals about the mining process in an active mine, making it the only experience of its kind in Southern Arizona.Responsibilities include:
- Greet and welcome guests to the center
- Deliver engaging tours based on provided materials and personal research
- Explain copper’s history, the mining process, and the importance of the mineral and the mining industry
- Create personalized scripts to enhance guest experiences
- Work closely with the tour bus driver to ensure passenger safety before, during, and after tours
- Report any safety or mechanical issues with the bus immediately to the supervisor
- Provide assistance to disabled passengers
- Adapt tours for school groups and age-appropriate events
- Answer questions, provide local recommendations, and engage visitors before and after tours
- Assist with ticket sales, reservations, and general customer service
- Be available for training sessions, special events, weekends, and some holidays
- Perform other tasks during down times when tours are slow
- Work independently with minimal supervision and exercise sound judgment
- Carry and transport up to 40 lbs.
- Maintain a clean, professional appearance and represent the company with pride

- Demonstrate a positive attitude, team-oriented mindset, and strong customer service skills
- Refrain from personal phone use while interacting with guests; professional conduct is expected at all times
- Accurately record and report work hours on timesheets; dishonesty or carelessness will not be tolerate
- Other related tasks as required
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clean, tidy, and professional appearance is mandatory
- Excellent public speaking and storytelling ability
- Must have availability to work weekdays, Saturdays, and overtime as requested
- Friendly, personable, and enthusiastic demeanor
- Ability to walk, stand, and work outdoors for extended periods
- Comfortable working independently and under pressure
- Must adhere to center policies, including limited personal phone use during guest-facing hours
- Strong organizational, time management, and improvisational skills
- Adherence to center policies, including limited personal phone use during tours
- Passion for learning and teaching
- Flexible availability:
- Busy Season (Oct–May): 8–32 hours/week (Depending on availability)
- Slow Season (June–Sept): 6–20 hours/week (Depending on availability)
- Able to pass a Reference Check, Background Check, and Drug Screen
Preferred Qualifications
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- CDL with passenger endorsement
- Prior tour guiding or public education experience
- Knowledge of or interest in mining, geology, or local history
- Able to accurately track and report work hours, with strong attention to detail and honesty
