LHH is looking for a full-time Payroll Specialist to join our client growing company in Seattle, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

Reports To: Payroll Manager / HR Operations Manager
Position Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Specialist for a 6-month contract to support our payroll operations during a period of increased activity. This role is based in Seattle, WA, and offers a great opportunity to contribute to a dynamic team while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
Key Responsibilities:

Process bi-weekly and/or semi-monthly payroll for multi-state employees

Review and audit timesheets for accuracy and compliance with company policies

Ensure accurate calculation of wages, deductions, and benefits

Maintain employee payroll records and respond to payroll-related inquiries

Assist with payroll tax filings, garnishments, and year-end reporting (e.g., W-2s)

Support the payroll team with system updates, process documentation, and audits

Collaborate with HR and Finance on employee changes and payroll adjustments

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
Qualifications:

2–4 years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment

Proficiency with payroll software (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Workday, or similar)

Strong understanding of payroll laws and regulations (multi-state experience a plus)

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills

Strong communication and customer service skills

Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion

Intermediate Excel skills (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, data validation)
Preferred Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, HR, or related field

Experience with union or hourly workforce payroll
-
Knowledge of Washington state payroll laws
