Position Type: Full Time - Days
Work Schedule: 4-10 hour shifts w/ call
You will receive a bonus of $20,000 (subject to applicable taxes) to be paid in 5 equal installments at 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, 18 months, and 24 months. You must remain in a full-time status with the Hospital in the position which qualified you for the sign-on bonus.
The Surgical Technologist works under the supervision of a surgeon and registered nurse to facilitate the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures, ensuring that the operating room environment is safe, that equipment functions properly, and that the operative procedure is conducted under conditions that maximize patient safety. Surgical technologists possess expertise in the theory and application of sterile and aseptic technique and combine the knowledge of human anatomy, surgical procedures, and implementation tools and technologies to facilitate a physician's performance of invasive therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
What We're Looking For:
Education & Certifications
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Successful completion of an accredited educational program for surgical technologists
• Must meet one of the following pathways:
○ Hold and maintain the Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) credential through the NBSTSA
○ Completed surgical technology training through the U.S. Armed Forces or U.S. Public Health Service
○ Practiced as a surgical technologist in South Carolina prior to January 1, 2008
○ Serving as a surgical technologist in the federal government
• Current BCLS certification required
• NBSTSA certification required
• Previous hospital experience preferred
