Bookkeeper
Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records by recording daily transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, and performing bank reconciliations. The Bookkeeper will enter data into accounting software, generating financial reports like balance sheets and income statements, and ensuring financial records are up-to-date and compliant with regulations. Key skills for this position include strong attention to detail, proficiency with accounting software, and excellent organizational abilities.
Key responsibilities
· Record financial transactions: Enter all financial activities, including income and expenses, into the company's general ledger.
· Manage accounts payable and receivable: Handle the processing of invoices, payments to vendors, and payments from clients.
· Reconcile accounts: Balance and maintain accurate ledgers by comparing them with bank statements and other financial accounts.
· Ensure compliance: Help with tax-related duties and ensure the company's financial records comply with state and federal laws.
· Maintain financial records: Keep organized and up-to-date records, which can include financial paperwork, and assist with audits or tax season preparation.
Necessary skills and qualifications
· Technical skills: Proficiency in accounting software (Sage is preferred), spreadsheets, and data entry is essential.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office with an emphasis on Excel.
· Attention to detail: A meticulous approach is critical for ensuring accuracy in financial records.
