About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled Float Provider, Nurse Practitioner/Physician assistant to join our team in the Health Care Services industry. As the Float Provider, you will be responsible for providing intake assessments, primary care and urgent care services to patients in the DOC utilizing your expertise to diagnose and treat patients with health conditions. You will work closely with other healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans that meet the unique needs of each patient.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Current Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license in the District of Columbia
- Master's degree in Nurse Practitioner or Physician assistant
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in adult Primary care
- Experience in intake evaluation for both Medical & Psychiatry preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- Experience working with diverse patient populations
- Experience in a correctional healthcare setting
- Dual Certification in Psychiatry and Primary care preferred
- Experience in Addiction Medicine (SUD) preferred
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care, including diagnosis and treatment of mental health conditions and substance use disorder.
- Provide direct patient care, including diagnosis and treatment of primary health care conditions.
- assignments are mostly at intake and sick calls and includes vacancies when needed
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers to develop and implement treatment plans
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Stay current with developments in the field of Primary care, basic Addiction Medicine and basic psychiatric care to incorporate new knowledge into patient care
Skills:
As the Float Provider, you will utilize your expertise in Primary care to diagnose and treat patients with health conditions. This position is for highly qualified PA/NP who is preferably double certified in Psychiatry and Primary care with basic knowledge in SUD (Addiction Medicine).This position can be assigned to all clinical service areas including inpatient-infirmary, Urgent Care, CCB, chronic care, sick call, psychiatry, SUD and intakes for comprehensive initiation of SUD, Psych & medical treatment. Your ability to work independently and as part of a team will be essential in providing exceptional patient care. Additionally, your experience working in a fast-paced healthcare environment and with diverse patient populations, will be beneficial in this role.
