Aleknagik Technology, LLC is seeking an experienced Writer/Editor to support the Office of Community Orientated Policing Services (COPS) in Washington, DC.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Assisting, advising, and coordinating with the COPS Office staff on the production of materials to be distributed.
- Writing and editing COPS publications and communications, in a manner consistent with the COPS Office Style Guide.
- Researching, analyzing, and presenting information, often from multiple sources, on a variety of topics related to community policing; collecting, recommending, selecting, creating, and organizing illustrative materials.
- Working with COPS Office staff to ensure the receipt of appropriate clearances prior to publication release; making recommendations on gaps in needed publications and resources while ensuring that all existing and recurring publications remain updated in content and format
- providing the COPS Office with information on innovations and best practices in product development, marketing and dissemination.
Qualifications:
- Over five years related work experience
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
- Candidates MUST have U.S. citizenship or the ability to obtain citizenship and MUST be able to pass a government background investigation. Candidate will not be able to work until clearance has been obtained.
