Job Description


The Powder Coating Technician Team Member is responsible for the efficient, operation of the powder coating procedures and overall operations. This includes basic setup and shut down of the powder coating facility, maintaining the wash system, basic cleaning, and testing for quality. The team member will work with other team members to provide an excellent customer experience for all customers.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 6:00 am- 3:00 pm

Essential Functions

  1. Support company values and mission through respect, continuous improvement, and safety
  2. Apply Lean Thinking to teamwork and processes (waste, flow, level work, etc.)
  3. Daily operation of powder coating procedures and other operations
  4. Daily organizing and cleaning of the powder area
  5. Basic set up and shut down of powder coating facility and equipment
  6. Maintaining wash system and testing for quality
  7. Actively participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement within a team.
  8. Support and help in other areas as the manufacturing schedule dictates.


  1. Detail-oriented, with the ability to read a tape measure and other measuring devices.
  2. Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment and be a team player to accomplish the company goals
  3. Self-motivated, assertive, and responds to production metrics
  4. Knowledge of powder coating processes
  5. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities
  6. Contributes to building a positive team spirit and puts success of team above own interests
  7. Ability to speak English fluently
  8. Ability to think on your feet to solve problems that may arise
  9. Responsible self-starter with excellent time management skills.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a manufacturing setting. May be subject to the current local weather conditions.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools or controls, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, talk and hear. The employee will regularly lift 50-pound bags and boxes. The employee regularly rolls or moves 100-pound barrels.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Occasional overtime will be required.


Local travel to various worksites may be required. No overnight travel is required.


Required Education and Experience

  1. High school diploma or equivalent required.
  2. Knowledge of powder coat ovens and wash systems
  3. Must be detail oriented and able to pay close attention to detail

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Prior use of GEMA and Nordson Powder coating guns
  2. Minimum of one years’ powder coating experience

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Valid Driver’s license to drive between local sites is preferred.
