Job Description

Summary of Job Responsibilities:

Responsible for efficient, effective management of a full-service Branch office, ensuring that established policies and procedures are followed: delegating a part of the day-to-day operations to the Assistant Branch Manager in order to be available to make loans and business calls; and to represent the bank at civic and service club functions.

Essential Job Duties:

  1. Reviews job performance and, when necessary, discipline of branch personnel. Conducts regular meetings to keep staff informed and resolve problems.
  2. Processes and approves consumer direct loans and indemnifying mortgages.
  3. Achieves complete familiarity with the Bank's deposit and loan policies and guidelines.
  4. Conducts business development calls to existing and potential customers. Joins area service clubs and organizations and represents the Bank at functions and meetings.
  5. Ensures all security procedures are strictly followed.
  6. Accountable for complying with all Bank Secrecy Act and Anti Money Laundering regulations, bank policies, and procedures.
  7. Required to conduct weekly staff meetings for training and coaching employees to direct their job performance toward attainment of established goals.

Other Essential Job Functions:

  1. Responsible for the general maintenance of the Branch. This includes making sure the walkways are clear of ice and snow for the safety and security of customers and employees.
  2. Performs various duties of a general Bank Officer.
  3. Ensures the Branch balances all transactions at the close of each business day.
  4. Helps Tellers resolve balancing problems and authorizes over/short adjustments.
  5. Ensures the automated teller machines are serviced and operational during business hours and are balanced each day.
  6. Will be required to respond to security alarms.
  7. Will participate in interviewing and hiring the best qualified employees.
  8. Obtains a thorough knowledge of the Branch and lending operations to coordinate the daily functioning of the Branch/lending duties and to resolve the employee and customer problems.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  1. The ability to speak, read, and write English; count currency; and to perform loan calculations.
  2. The ability to proficiently operate personal computer.

Minimum Level of Performance and Training Normally Required:

  1. A high school diploma or equivalent
  2. At least 3 years of management experience
  3. At least 3 years of experience in a sales and/or financial environment
  4. Lending experience preferred.

Working Conditions:

  1. Generally good. Some exposure to adverse conditions when making business development calls, such as stair climbing.
  2. Exposed to potentially hazardous conditions (i.e. robbery). Receives detailed instructions concerning procedures to be followed during a robbery.
