Position: Sales Director - Life Insurance Internal Wholesaler

You will lead Sons of Norway’s internal wholesale function. As an internal wholesaler, you will be the key resource to our sales associates. As the wholesale team leader, you will define our sales desk capability. You will shape our insurance sales strategy for the future.

You will be responsible for achieving our sales goals and defining measurements of success. You must be personable, detail oriented and motivated by goal achievement. You will partner with our internal team members as well as external sales professionals to achieve results. You will be a part of a team of individuals transforming a 128-year-old institution into the fastest growing fraternal in the US.

You are:

  • Expert in insurance carrier wholesale capability
  • Expert in carrier identification of and onboarding of IMO/FMOs
  • Energized by a transformational environment with high expectations and multiple responsibilities
  • Experience in agent and marketing staff training and onboarding
  • An expert in life and annuity products
  • Able to work with minimal direction
  • Drive our sales vision, strategy and roadmap
  • Define our strategy for IMO/FMO engagement
  • Leverage your expertise to create a high-performing sales desk
  • Monitor wholesale team performance
  • Day to day you will make proactive outbound sales calls, take inbound sales calls, participate in virtual meetings and occasional large and small group sales presentations
  • Establish and manage our agency management function (IMO/FMO, independent)
  • Partner with multiple teams including underwriting, operations, compliance, actuarial, analytics, claims, and legal
  • Identify and vet potential agents and IMO / FMOs agency partners
  • Help build a culture of innovation

What you’ll do:

What we need:

  • 10+ years life and annuity insurance carrier experience
  • 5+ years demonstrated success as internal wholesaler
  • BA/BS in relevant field or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrated success influencing others to achieve sales goals
  • Extensive knowledge of life and annuity products
  • State insurance licenses
  • Effective presentation skills

A hybrid work environment is available with a minimum of three days in the office keeping regular business hours.
