Job Description

A high-end catering company specializing in prestigious events (think: Oscars, Met Gala, New York City Fashion Week, and similar high-profile occasions) is seeking a business development dynamo to help build relationships and increase overall business. The ideal candidate will have a deep and broad network of contacts across various sectors including fashion, entertainment, music, etc. This person will have a track-record of proven success in fostering and monetizing relationships to increase overall sales. Catering experience required.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Business Growth: Lead the company's business development efforts by identifying and targeting growth opportunities in the luxury event sector. This involves extensive market research and trend analysis to pinpoint potential avenues for expansion.
  2. Lead Generation and Networking: Develop and maintain a robust network of contacts within the industry, including event organizers, luxury brands, and corporate entities. Utilize this network to generate leads and create opportunities for the company to cater at high-profile events.
  3. Collaboration with Sales Team: Work closely with the sales team to ensure a seamless transition of leads. Provide comprehensive briefs on potential clients and events to enable the sales team to tailor their pitches effectively.
  4. Brand Representation: Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings. Act as a brand ambassador, promoting the company's services and unique selling propositions to potential clients and partners.
  5. Innovation and Trend Setting: Keep abreast of the latest trends in high-end catering and event management. Introduce innovative ideas and concepts to keep the company at the forefront of the industry.
  6. Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with high-profile clients. Ensure their needs are met and expectations exceeded, fostering long-term loyalty and repeat business.
  7. Reporting and Analysis: Regularly report on business development activities and results. Analyze performance data to identify areas for improvement and adjust strategies accordingly.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the luxury event catering or high-end hospitality sector.
  • Proven track record of generating leads and driving business growth in a competitive market.
  • Strong network within the luxury events industry.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with a flair for innovation and trend-setting.
  • Leadership experience with the ability to inspire and motivate a team.
