Hamshaw Lumber, your local and community-focused hardware and building material store, is looking for a highly skilled full-time Inventory Coordinator to join our team. As an Inventory Coordinator at Hamshaw Lumber & Hardware, you will play a vital role in ensuring our shelves are always stocked with the products our customers need. Essential Duties:
- Manage and update inventory records accurately.
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely deliveries.
- Perform regular stock checks and audits.
- Organize and maintain the warehouse.
- Stay informed about inventory best practices
- Ensure data accuracy in the system to maintain adequate inventory levels.
- Train store staff on best practices and promote a culture focused on inventory health.
- Collaborate with associates to identify and address errors, focusing on root causes.
- Job responsibilities may change based on the needs of the business.
Required Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
- High school degree or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Experience in a retail environment either in inventory, sales, or back office.
- General understanding of inventory principles and experience with retail programs.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Excellent quantitative and computer skills.
- Knowledge of retail computer systems.
- Ability to work in a team environment.
- Capable of inspiring and motivating others to execute best practices.
- Passion for detail, inventory management and store operations.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule on weekdays, weekends, and holidays.
- A continuous pattern of regular and prompt attendance is required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods, as well as frequent walking, reaching, and bending to perform job duties.
- Move and handle merchandise up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to climb ladders or use step stools to access high shelves for inventory management.
- Ability to push and pull inventory carts, pallets, and other equipment used for transporting merchandise.
- Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity to handle tools and inventory items safely and efficiently.
