KPS Global is looking for a Senior Buyer, to join the Strategic Sourcing Group.
The Buyer is responsible for negotiating material costs and obtaining local contracts for production supplies. This role is also responsible for communicating and managing the timely arrival of purchased materials and working with supply base and internal departments to ensure proper inventory levels are achieved. This position expedites or cancels materials when needed, coordinates the return of defective materials, and reviews and directs the work of lower level employees. Performs and manages purchases for multiple locations to support the internal panel business, project business, and provide overall customer support in conjunction with the overall organizational goals.

Places purchase orders for materials used in the production of panels and doors and various production supplies. Coordinates the delivery of these materials to the internal KPS plant.

Maintains accurate records, notes, and transaction details via computer system.

Seeks cost savings and quality improvements with current suppliers, as well as engaging in the search for competitive quotes from new potential suppliers.

Provides direct assistance as required to the Materials/Logistics Manager.

Coordinates purchases with Service, Installations, and Scheduling departments as needed.

Negotiates terms and conditions within predetermined parameters set by the Materials/Logistics Manager.

Develops reporting systems such that effective and timely communications are maintained to management, project associates, inter-company department staff, and external customers.

Consistently tracks and status of open purchase orders.

Maintains inventory adequate to meet production demands while reducing waste.

Monitors and tracks incoming and drop-shipped materials.

Takes immediate corrective action on schedule conflicts or delays with respect to purchased materials and KPS product being built, shipped, and delivered to the customer.

Matches specifications on customer order with available material. Provides consultation to internal and external customers as to alternative material solutions and applications impact when needed. Researches issues as needed.

Handles all returned goods due to non-use, damage of all kinds, mis-shipments, and exchanges. When required will assist with the accounting ramifications of returned goods.

Fulfill the financial control and risk management responsibilities inherent in the position.

Required Skills

Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field is preferred

3 – 5+ years of experience in a senior buyer and/or purchasing role

Experience retrieving and manipulating raw data from various sources for analytical work and reporting

Proven ability to take initiative, demonstrate a sense of urgency and intellectual curiosity, and identify opportunities for business growth and improvement

Strong organizational skills and an ability to prioritize effectively and remain detail oriented while managing multiple projects simultaneously

Superior written and verbal communication skills, including strong presentation skills and the ability to interact successfully with all levels of an organization

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
