Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Regular Tasks:
? Daily inspections of equipment in Experience and Live Event Venues and regularly
scheduled maintenance, such as cleaning vent filters and power cycling equipment.
? Tracking of installation, maintenance and support requests for campus systems
? Setup portable live event systems to integrate with existing infrastructure
? Break fix support for live event spaces
Skills and Abilities
The Technician will need to be familiar with the live event, webcast and streaming
industry/workflow with specific knowledge and/or certifications in the following areas:
? Installation and Operational experience with video production switching consoles and
software
? Installation and Operational experience with AV over IP technologies
? Installation and Maintenance experience with video walls
? Installation and Operational experience with live audio protocols such as AES67,
Dante, etc.
? Installation and Operational experience with intercom/talk back systems
? Installation and Operational experience with intelligent lighting systems like DMX,
ArtNET, etc
? Programming experience for audio/DSP processing systems (QSC Q-SYS)
? Network understanding including the OSI model, setting up a network switch with
VLAN, QoS, IGMP Snooping, and other standard AV network settings
? Experience in testing and terminating various cabling used in these systems
(Ethernet, BNC, XLR, Phoenix, etc)
? Understanding of cable certification tools and necessity
? Experience reading line drawings and understanding signal flows to repatch systems
in emergencies
Education and / or Experience
Minimum of a 4-year degree or comparable industry experience is required
5+ years of experience in audio-visual production technologies or collaboration industry is
preferred
