As an Azure Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our cloud infrastructure on the Azure platform. Your expertise in infrastructure as code and resiliency engineering will be instrumental in ensuring the reliability, scalability, and security of our systems.

  • Design, deploy, and manage Azure infrastructure components, including virtual networks, storage accounts, and virtual machines

  • Develop and maintain infrastructure as code using tools such as Terraform or ARM templates

  • Implement and optimize monitoring, alerting, and logging solutions to ensure system availability and performance

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and provide infrastructure recommendations

  • Help conduct regular security assessments and implement necessary measures to protect our systems and data

  • Continuously improve infrastructure processes and automation to enhance efficiency and reliability

  • Conduct risk assessments and business impact analyses to identify potential vulnerabilities and prioritize recovery efforts

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement resilient infrastructure and systems

  • Establish and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers to ensure effective disaster recovery solutions

  • Conduct regular testing and simulations to validate the effectiveness of disaster recovery plans

  • Stay up-to-date with industry best practices and emerging technologies in infrastructure and resiliency engineering and disaster recovery Provide guidance and training to internal teams on disaster recovery protocols and procedures

What You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s or Masters Degree and at least 7 years of relevant experience; Azure architecture and/or developer certification is required

  • Experience supporting enterprise technical evolution and design of Azure cloud infrastructure components, including experience performing security engineering and network engineering assignments

  • Experience implementing, monitoring, and operating Azure Cloud infrastructure and technical governance, including information assurance, data strategy, interoperability, application integration, information exchange, networks, and communications services (voice, video, and data).

  • Experience performing application migrations, cloud infrastructure upgrades and consolidation of computing infrastructure

  • Proven ability to productively work remotely and collaborate, mentor, help, and support other team members, as needed to solve complex technical problems

  • Proven ability to develop Azure infrastructure prototypes and use prototypes to validate technical solution strategies and communicate and explain the pros and cons of complex design alternatives

  • An in-depth understanding of the Agile and Scaled Agile practices and principles experience. Must be an experienced Agile practitioner with proven ability to plan and implement software products with agility

  • Experience and proficiency designing, configuring, and provisioning Azure infrastructure services for highly-available, resilient, multi-AZ and multi-Region mission critical workloads

  • Experience designing, building, and deploying workload infrastructures that conform with the Well Architected Framework design principals

  • Proven ability to rehydrate Azure compute resources and automate software upgrades, monitor billing and develop cost optimization strategies, backup and restore data resources, automate the provisioning of infrastructure and automate tagging strategies

  • Proficiency deploying Azure infrastructure services using contemporary infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD pipeline tooling and ability to continuously collaborate with development, operations, and security (DevSecOps) team members to deliver secure and operationally resilient infrastructure solutions

  • Experience designing and delivering highly available Azure infrastructures and infrastructures that auto-scale and load balance resources and support disaster recovery strategies and required Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)

  • Experience implementing Azure infrastructure telemetry, logging, monitoring, and alerting capabilities required to preemptively identify, prevent, and overcome threats to workload availability and performance

  • This is a hands-on cloud infrastructure engineering position and requires the ability to proficiently and predictably configure and provision Azure cloud infrastructure services; candidates need to have proven ability to design, build, test, and deploy software product infrastructure on the Azure GovCloud platform

  • Proven experience in resiliency engineering and disaster recovery planning and strong knowledge of disaster recovery methodologies, tools, and technologies and familiarity with cloud-based disaster recovery solutions (e.g., Azure Site Recovery, AWS Disaster Recovery)

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Platform modernization experience in taking legacy applications to distributed solutions (SaaS, PaaS) is preferred

  • Experience migrating Mainframe and monolithic systems to the Azure Cloud preferred

The annual salary range for this position is $104,200.00-$156,300.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
