Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology, Certification in Radiologic Technology (ARRT), and 1+ year of Cath Lab experience. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A career opportunity is available for a skilled cardiac catheterization technologist to support advanced cardiovascular procedures in a high-acuity, academic medical center. This contract position is based in Winston-Salem, NC, an area known for its rich history, vibrant arts scene, and welcoming community atmosphere.
The role involves working within a state-of-the-art cardiac catheterization lab equipped with Siemens x-ray systems and supported by leading-edge electronic medical records systems including EPIC, Cupid, and Sensis. Daily patient volumes range from 20 to 25, with a diverse case mix that includes cardiac catheterizations, Impella device support, Watchman implantations, TAVR procedures, ECMO cases, and pediatric cardiac interventions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist physicians by scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring during cardiac catheterization procedures
- Collaborate closely with an experienced clinical team including physicians, respiratory therapists, anesthesia providers, and an assistant clinical manager
- Maintain strict adherence to patient safety protocols within the department culture
- Participate in a structured orientation lasting up to two weeks to familiarize with lab operations and technology
- Manage weekend on-call coverage, including a call schedule with 30-minute callback expectation and holiday on-call duties as needed
Qualifications/Experience:
- Minimum 1 year of cardiac catheterization lab experience; 2 years preferred
- Certifications required: BLS and either ARRT-R or RCIS
- Competency in not administering medications, but proficient in procedural support tasks
- Previous experience utilizing Siemens imaging equipment and EMR systems preferred
Schedule:
- Regular hours: 7:30 AM 4:30 PM
- On-call rotations including one weekday and every fifth weekend
