The Computer Support Technician will provide critical IT systems and network administration support to the United States Attorney’s Office (USAO DMN). This role ensures the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of IT systems through installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and security compliance. The technician will work under the close direction of the IT Systems Manager and Specialist, supporting a dynamic environment including desktop/laptop systems, LAN, SQL Server, web applications, and litigation/case management tools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Configure, install, maintain, and troubleshoot networked systems (data/voice/video) to ensure functionality, integrity, and efficiency.
- Assist in managing Office intranet/internet sites, including content updates, link validation, and error resolution.
- Optimize performance using tuning tools, database management, and project management methods.
- Implement and maintain information systems security programs, policies, and tools to safeguard systems/networks/data.
- Perform routine audits to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability (CIA triad) of IT assets.
- Provide Tier 1/2 IT support for hardware, software, and network issues (e.g., Windows OS, SQL Server, handheld/wireless devices).
- Assist with inventory management, system upgrades, and user training.
- Collaborate with IT staff to configure/maintain case management and litigation support systems.
- Assist in planning/coordinating IT solutions for legal teams.
Required Qualifications:
- 3+ years in IT support/network administration (federal/government experience preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Windows OS, Active Directory, SQL Server, LAN/WAN, and web applications.
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Security+ (or equivalent).
- Relevant certifications in database management, IT security, or systems administration a plus.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting, performance tuning, and systems interoperability.
- Knowledge of information security frameworks (e.g., NIST, CIS benchmarks).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with federal IT environments (e.g., DOJ, USAO).
- Familiarity with litigation support tools (e.g., Relativity, CaseMap).
- Scripting/automation skills (PowerShell, Python).
