Summary:
The Department of Teacher Education and Leadership in the College of Education, Humanities, and Behavior Sciences at Alabama A & M University seeks one (1) faculty-tenure track faculty member to teach Math Education courses for Early Childhood, Elementary, and Secondary Education. The position is a full-time, 9-month faculty position. The successful candidate will meet and instruct assigned classes in the designated site-based locations (mornings, afternoons, & evenings), and teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per academic semester. Interested candidates should submit credentials for evaluation. The rank and tenure-status of position is negotiable based on qualifications. The anticipated start date is August 15, 2025
Examples of Duties
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Teach 12 hours of Math Methods courses
- Design courses for online delivery
- Evaluate students' performance in all courses taught
- Participates in the activities/committees of Department, College, and University including recruitment and new course/curriculum development.
- Contribute to the scholarly advancement of the Department through a productive research agenda, which results in publication or grantsmanship.
- Teaches both on-line and in person face-to-face courses
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Typical Qualifications
Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.):
- Terminal degree in Math Education or Curriculum and Instruction with cognate in Math Education.
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years of teaching experience at K-12 level.
- State teaching certification.

- Knowledge of graduate level content in the specializations mentioned above
- Ability to interpret research data
- Knowledge of the use of Analytics
- Ability to use Blackboard Collaborate Ultra instructional delivery platform
- Ability to deliver instructions online in the synchronous, asynchronous or hybrid modalities
