Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Reports to: Director of Engineering

Department: Engineering

Position Overview:

The Electrical Engineer is responsible for managing and delivering technical solutions throughout all phases of a project, from pre-award to post-energization. This role involves close collaboration with customers, engineering firms, and internal teams to ensure designs meet specifications, industry standards, and production requirements. The ideal candidate will combine strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills to ensure timely project execution and continuous improvement in design processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with customers and engineering firms to address technical questions and resolve issues across all project stages.
  • Prepare accurate design submittal drawings that align with project requirements and work with proposal and sales engineers to ensure consistency.
  • Drive the design approval process by proactively following up with customers to achieve timely approvals.
  • Incorporate lessons learned and quality feedback into future designs in collaboration with the quality manager.
  • Develop designs that prioritize reliability, compliance with industry standards, and safety while addressing production needs.
  • Provide detailed construction designs that allow for efficient assembly by semi-skilled labor, including accurate part numbers for key components.
  • Support operations by identifying and implementing alternative component designs and suppliers in response to availability challenges.
  • Stay updated on advancements in component technology, test methods, and industry standards, incorporating them into designs to improve safety, cost-effectiveness, and performance.
  • Participate in customer factory acceptance testing when needed or requested.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 4 years of experience in design engineering and high-voltage testing.

Required Skills and Competencies:

  • Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
  • Ability to develop innovative designs and concepts.
  • Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously while providing detailed technical support during design and debugging stages.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with marketing, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams, as well as customers.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and adaptability to dynamic project requirements.
