Job Description
Maintain a safety-first approach to manufacturing and engineering
* Serve as process safety resource on a cross functional operations team leading process risk assessments and developing strategies for mitigating identified risks
* Maintain safety, product quality/yield and manufacturing effectiveness through daily troubleshooting and resolution of process difficulties, while working in a cross-functional team environment
* Collect production data and applies standard scientific and statistical methods to analyze, document, and diagram production processes
* Optimize manufacturing processes to provide sustainable gains in cost effectiveness and product performance through capital projects, statistical analysis, designed experiments and procedural changes
* Work cross functionally and with customers to resolve technical/quality issues and provide required packaging solutions
* Start-up new products and equipment (supervises installation, troubleshoots initial production, ensures new processes and products meet requirements, documents, and transfers to production)
* Lead the management of change process to document process changes
* Provide technical leadership, guidance and supervision to other engineers, process technicians and technical resources as assigned
* Serve as a senior technical leader to set & document clear objectives, SOP's, JD's and ensure priorities are aligned for the technical team
* Provide support for developing and implementing various capital projects
* As needed, provide off-hours support of abnormal and non-routine operations, including major engineering initiatives during plant startups, shutdowns, or upsets

The Successful Applicant
- Manufacturing experience including polymer extrusion and converting required
- Possess strong verbal and written communication skills
- Skill for process simulation and optimization
- Possess required technical skills
- Ability to benchmark and analyze various technical processes, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Business acumen, analytical thinking, computer proficiency, teamwork, problem-solving orientation, and networking
- Proven ability to effectively interface and communicate with people throughout the organization from the production floor to the Senior Leadership team
- B.S. Engineering or applicable Technical Degree
