Job Description
The I&E Technician performs a variety of plant and equipment maintenance to ensure effective and efficient operation of the plant. This person will need to have the ability to work in a team setting or independently on projects that will ensure the division reaches their goals. The electricians' task and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Tasks & Responsibilities
- Knows, understands, and follows all Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and requirements
- Inspect, maintain, repair and overhaul electromechanical and solid state electrical equipment, using a variety of electrical test equipment, meters, powered and non-powered tools and equipment.
- Advising management on ways to improve equipment repairs
- Install new electrical and electronic equipment and electrical wiring according to the National and/or Local Electrical Code and company electrical standards.
- Perform high voltage switching and operate generators in support of operations.
- Operate mobile equipment and certify as mobile equipment operator for specific equipment (ie, forklift, carry deck, crane)
- Comply with and practice proper equipment clearance procedures.
- Perform all work in compliance with applicable codes, standards, safety and environment regulations.
- Knowledgeable in Lockout/tag out procedures
- Input of information in maintenance tracking system (SAP PM) and complete paperwork including, but not limited to, work orders, inventory, and preventive maintenance forms
- Assists Safety Manager and safety team regarding safety and emergency measures by reporting all hazardous conditions and incidents and acknowledgement of safety and emergency plans.
- Performs other duties assigned as needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical maintenance
- Electrical safety/NFPA 70E Knowledge
- Motors, PLC, Drives Experience
- Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge
- Experience with MP2, Ross, AS400 and IFS or similar CMMS
- Thorough understanding of electrical engineering principles.
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLC)
- Experience performing basic maintenance repairs on electrical, PLC, and HVAC
- Experience with the maintenance and repair of conduit, fixtures, and production equipment
- Knowledgeable with 480, 277, 220, and 110 volt circuits and VFD
- Experience in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics and process flow diagrams
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, & PowerPoint)
- Must have the ability to effectively communicate in English, verbally and in writing. Skills will be used to produce quality reports and thorough instructions and directions.
- Must be able to walk long distances and stand and work for more than 2 hours in tough environmental conditions (high temperature, high humidity, noise, & dust), lift 50 Lbs. and withstand heights of up to 500 feet. Pre-employment physical is required.
- Must be able to work shift schedule.
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Must have or be able to obtain a TWIC-card
