ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide a safe and nurturing environment for students.
  • Plan, organize, and facilitate the infant/toddler program.
  • Engage in playful activities that encourage development in the classroom.
  • Teach children about their bodies, emotions, and relationships by modeling and interacting with them.
  • Supervise children during outdoor playtime.
  • Answer parents' questions about their children's progress.
  • Ensure all documentation is forwarded to EHS/HS Education Director and/or human resources.
  • Monitor, evaluate and provide training of classroom volunteers.
  • Attend case management meetings, consultations, and staff meetings as necessary.
  • Observe children and provide suggestions for behavior management and education programming to meet the individual needs of all children.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: RATES OF PAY ARE DETERMINED BY EXPERIENCE AND CREDENTIALS.

Minimum: Associate's degree in early childhood development, Early Childhood Infant/Toddler certification. Meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) requirements.

  • At least 2 years' experience in one of the following areas: early childhood education, child health, mental health, or fields of disabilities services
  • At least one-year experience as a preschool or infant/toddler teacher. Also accepting applications for newly certified teachers.
  • Prefer experience with Head Start.
  • Experience with Developmentally Appropriate Practice, cultural diversity, and inclusion.
  • Experience working in Bilingual settings (Spanish/English) preferred.
