Job Summary:

The Aircraft Mechanic II will be responsible for performing assembly, disassembly, repair, and modification of airframes, powerplants, and aircraft systems. The role emphasizes structural repairs and sheet metal work, including the installation/removal of rivets, Hi-Lok fasteners, and other components. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural repair and assembly, ensuring compliance with company and FAA standards. The position requires both technical expertise and leadership in training and team coordination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Airframe and Powerplant Repairs:
  • Perform assembly, disassembly, and repairs related to airframe overhaul, modification, and upgrades.
  • Remove, replace, and repair parts of engines, airframes, aircraft structures, and systems.
  • Airframe System Modifications & Inspections:
  • Perform repairs and modifications to meet company and FAA requirements.
  • Conduct routine inspections, troubleshooting, and system checkouts for airframe structures, engines, and aircraft systems.
  • Technical Interpretation & Documentation:
  • Interpret technical manuals, drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure accurate execution of tasks.
  • Perform structural and sheet metal repairs, including the installation and removal of rivets, Hi-Loks, and other fasteners.
  • Leadership & Team Collaboration:
  • Act as a leader and trainer within a functional or cross-functional team to meet business requirements.
  • Demonstrate the competencies necessary to achieve team and company objectives.

Required Qualifications:

Education & Experience:

  • Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) License required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with diversified jet, turboprop, piston aircraft, or airframe sheet metal maintenance.
  • Experience in aircraft modification and flight maintenance is essential.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) processes.
  • Proficient in the use of pneumatic, power, and hand tools required for maintenance tasks.
  • Solid understanding of arithmetic, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Deep knowledge of jet, piston, airframe, and engine principles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional certifications or specialized training in aircraft maintenance or structural repair.

Certifications:

  • Airframe and Powerplant License (A&P) is required for this role.

Essential Physical & Mental Requirements:

  • Ability to handle maximum weights as outlined by Environmental Safety and Health governing documentation.
  • May occasionally perform duties in a standing, kneeling, or squatting position.
  • Good eyesight with the ability to distinguish colors is necessary to ensure proper component identification.
