Description
Essential Functions
- Responsible for the daily operations of the Radiation Oncology Information System (ROIS) and serving as a backup administrator for the Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS). Oversees equipment maintenance and systems testing, upgrading, and installing. Acts as a liaison between the Radiology, Radiation Oncology, Oncology, and MIS departments. Maintains positive vendor relationship. Reports to Imaging Informatics Manager. Thorough knowledge of department processes. Assist Imaging Informatics Manager in over-seeing the daily operation of the ARIA, PACS, Radiology Reporting System, and other Radiology and Radiology Oncology imaging systems as implemented.
- Assist Imaging Informatics Manager in monitoring and maintaining systems, hardware, and software.
- Works closely with Radiology, Network, and server infrastructure teams to maintain essential network components.
- As directed, acts as a backup resource for PACS imaging support including remote imaging and reporting.
- Works closely with vendors to support upgrades.
- Works closely with Oncologists, Physicists, Dosimetrists, and Radiation therapists as a first line of response to help triage system issues or ideas.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience - Bachelor's degree on related science field or 3+ years of experience working as ROIS or PACS Administrator.
Preferred Education and Experience - 3+ years ROIS/PACS/Voice Recognition systems experience with proven knowledge of monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting production computer systems. Experience with production system upgrades and patches. Experience with HL7 communication engines. Experience with basic server and network troubleshooting techniques. Understanding of DICOM and DICOM service troubleshooting.
Additional Eligibility - Qualifications Possesses excellent written and oral communication skills. Must be able to work with limited supervision.
