OPEN TO ALL U.S CITIZENS Open/Close Period: OPEN CONTINUOUS Title/Series/Grade: FIRE PROTECTION ENGINEER GS-0804-7/9/11/12/13 Pay Range: $64,660 - $136,323 Work Schedule: Full Time Appointment Type: Permanent Service: Competetive Location : Norfolk, VA ( Multiple Vacancies ) Duties: You will administer fire protection engineering direction for projects involving design and construction or renovation of facilities and structures (e.g., housing, wharves, hangars, storage facilities). You will advise other engineers in regards with unusual designs, issues, and situation regarding fire protection engineering. You will establish and direct studies, investigations, or analyses to make recommendations on new methods, procedures or approaches to enhance fire and smoke detection equipment, systems, or processes. You will resolve construction and design problems encountered during the performance of contracts directly related to fire protection. You will coordinate with Architects/Engineers, Contractors, and in-house staff in the delivery of Capital Improvements products and services. Conditions of Employment : Must be a U. S. Citizen. This position required a Secret Clearance. Occasional travel within CONUS/OCONUS may be required. This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes. You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment. OR Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) examination or any other written test required for professional registration by an engineering licensure board.
