Position Title: IT Tech Coordinator

Reports To: IT Manager

Classification: Full Time, Non-Exempt, 1.0 FTE

Location: Primarily On-site at Latino Network's La Plaza Esperanza in NE Portland

(with travel to other local office sites as need)

Compensation: $23.08 per hour

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Latino Network seeks a bilingual (English/Spanish), mission driven and community service mindset individual to provide coordination, coverage, and support to the Organization's IT operations. The ideal candidate will have high attention to detail, a minimum of 3+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience with supporting macOS, Windows OS, and Google software suites/applications, experience with Mac hardware and software deployment, repair, patching, and retirement. Must enjoy testing and writing comprehensive documentation. Familiarity with computer networking and computer security, MDM deployment and management, and ability to package software applications & perform scripting programming (e.g., Python, Swift, PowerShell). Previous help desk experience preferred.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The IT Tech Coordinator is responsible for supporting the Information Technology department in its role, developing and producing training materials, facilitating the interaction between end users and higher level support, as well as providing administrative support for daily operational activities of the IT department by performing the following duties.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with the deployment, monitoring, maintenance, development, upgrade, and support of all IT systems, including telecommunications, servers, PCs, operating systems, hardware, software, peripheral,s and Office Automation equipment including but not limited to phones, printers, and computers.
  • Assists the IT Manager with the organizations IT operational and strategic planning, including fostering innovation, planning projects, organizing, and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  • Assists with the provision of end-user services, including help desk and technical support services.
  • As a fluent Spanish-language speaker, will assist in accurate translation of documentation and training materials, as well as helping Spanish-first staff in person and remotely.
  • Manages data backups and restoring lost data as needed.
  • Monitor cyber security logs to identify detected malicious activities and carry out appropriate/recommended response actions.
  • Works with IT Manager and stakeholders to define agency and systems requirements for new technology implementations.
  • Works with end users, in person and remotely, to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of IT policies and procedures as needed.
  • Practices asset management for IT hardware, software, and equipment.
  • Familiarity with or willingness to learn support skills for in-house AV systems and Zoom Rooms hardware, in addition to occasional offsite meeting AV support.
  • Establishes and maintains regular written and in-person communications with the organization's executives, department heads, and end users regarding pertinent IT activities.
  • Maintains punctual, regular, and predictable attendance.
  • Works collaboratively in a team environment with a spirit of cooperation.
  • Respectfully takes direction from the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years related experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • English and Spanish Bilingual verbal and written proficiency required, ability to translate general communications, converse with staff and community, either on a 1-1 setting or in group/presentation.
  • Reliable car, valid driver's license, and automobile insurance to travel safely between worksites and facilities as needed.
  • This position is in the field of information technology, where the entire focus of the position is on computers or the networks on which computers communicate.
  • Has advanced skills in working with hardware, software, support, and management of computer systems and can adapt extremely well to newer applications.
  • Has advanced skills working with programming and networking computer software and performing programming in software scripting environments.
  • Ability to maintain discretion about confidential matters and maintain confidential records.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage time while prioritizing tasks to meet key organizational deadlines.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptive to successfully achieve the functions of the position as described in the job responsibilities.
  • Takes initiative and maintains proactive communication.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Employee service mindset, resourceful, outcomes-oriented, and able to build strong relationships.
  • The work schedule for this position is Monday- Friday, 9am-5pm and availability to work occasional weekends and evenings if needed.
  • Proficient in Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office suite.

This position requires frequent computer use. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
