Additional salary credit may be given for internal transfers and recent Greeley-Evans School District 6 rehires, up to $32.85 per hour.

Contract Length/Days: (2024-2025 /182 Days)

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Required:
Bilingual Spanish/English
Communicate in English
Requires a valid Colorado driver's license
AA degree or equivalent

Preferred:
Minimum two years of college, Bachelor's Degree preferred
Experience in Education/tutoring/mentoring of children and young adults ages ranging from 5-12.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective: Provide a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive classroom where multilingual students can learn important skills and knowledge to grow into responsible, capable young adults. Help students reach their full potential by guiding their learning and supporting their academic, emotional, and social growth. Work with the building principal and Director of Multilingual Learners to create an environment where every student can succeed.

Qualifications: Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, school staff, and administrators; Experience working with children in an educational setting; Positive communication, interaction, and work experience with diverse populations.

Essential Functions:

  • Help multilingual students who are having trouble with learning or adjusting to a new culture. Provide support to make their learning experience easier and help them feel more comfortable in their new environment.
  • Support the needs of students based upon recommendations from the school's multilingual learner team and administration
  • Collaborate and coordinate with teachers in lesson modification, assignment completion, and classroom instruction
  • Help students build on what they're learning by challenging them with new ideas and skills.
  • Keep in touch with classroom teachers about students' progress and assignments. Take part in meetings with parents, counselors, teachers, and students when needed to support each student's growth.

  • Participate in team planning for Multilingual Learners
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Facilitate the acculturation process by serving as a link between the culture of the home and the culture of school.

Ability to sit for long periods of time, numerous distractions, visual, auditory and ambulatory acuity important. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds.
