As the DHHS Financial Reports Coordinator, you will ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, consult with management on financial matters, and analyze financial data within DHHS systems.<br><br>Position qualifies as experience for CPA and CFE licenses.<br><br><b>Examples of Work</b><br><br>Responsibilities include:<br><br><ul><li>Interprets appropriate federal and State laws, rules, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance and efficient operation in accordance with prescribed accounting principles, theories, and concepts</li><li>Consults with and advises management on financial matters to exchange information, to identify the characteristics and impact of financial problems, and to formulate possible solutions</li><li>Analyzes and validates financial data within DHHS Systems</li><li>Audit financial items for accuracy</li><li>Facilitate and compile the DHHS portion of the ACFR and other Statewide financial statements, including the SEFA, CIP and SBITA.</li><li>Prepare and provide training to staff on accounting and financial processes to ensure operational consistency and accuracy</li><li>Liaison with Department of Administrative Services and Auditors over financial statement items</li></ul><br><b>Requirements / Qualifications:</b><br><br><b>Minimum Qualifications</b>: Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business administration or related field; OR Associates degree in accounting, finance, statistics, business administration or related field and two years' experience with professional accounting procedures; OR four years' experience with professional accounting procedures including developing public accounting systems, modifying public accounting systems, and financial management consultation.<br><br><b>Other:</b> Position is located on-site at the Nebraska State Office Building in Lincoln.<br><br><b>Hiring rate: 28.077/hr.
