LCS General Technician at Naval Station San, Diego, CA.
This position provides an opportunity to further advance the cutting-edge technology that supports some of our nation's core defense/intelligence services and systems. General Dynamics Mission Systems employees work closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions. The LCS General Technician will engage in Maintenance, Mission Module Movements/Embarks and Debarks, Pre-embark Staging, Maintenance Planning, Fly-Away/Distance Support and Logistic Engineering Support. Travel Required 40% of time
What sets you apart:
Experience with 11m Rigid-hull Inflatable Boats (RHIB), qualification as a RHIB operator / maintainer. Experience with other rigid-hull boats will be considered.
Formally trained as Cummins diesel QSB 6.7L and 5.9L overhaul technician.
Formally trained, operated, and maintained Navy's Surface Warfare (SUW), Mine Countermeasure (MCM) and systems and inter-workings of the LCS Class MM program
Experience operating and maintaining Navy weapons systems such as Mk 44/46 30mm Guns, MK 110 57mm Guns, Mk 45 5"/54; Close-in Weapons System (CIWS); Mk 34 Gun Weapon System (GWS) on US Navy/Coast Guard Vessels, and USMC/Army vehicles.
Familiar with U.S. Naval protocol such as WAFs and Tag-Out procedures
Ability to travel 40% of time.
Role and Position Objectives:
Corrective Maintenance, Emergent Repair, Preventative Maintenance and Maintenance planning
Mission Module Pre-embark Staging, Movements/Embarks and Debarks
Fly-Away/Distance Support and Logistic Engineering Support.
Must be able to perform physically demanding work in various environments, to include working aloft, in tight, restricted spaces on-board Naval Platforms, climbing scaffolding, ladders and standing for long periods of time on-board a Navy ship or pier and be able to lift 50 lbs.
Ability to use basic hand tools and have knowledge and understanding of test equipment such as voltage meter, power quality analyzer, and fiber test equipment.
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 40% of your time.

Target salary range: USD $27.15/Hr. - USD $29.12/Hr. This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.

Basic Qualifications
Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
