Summary of Work
• Conduct field inspections of oil and gas production sites, saltwater disposals, and injection wells to determine if operations comply with current laws, regulations, and policies.
• Document all inspections in the field activity database and synchronize database daily.
• Contact operators regarding violations of oil and gas laws and rules. Follow through to see that violations are corrected.
• Communicate with district supervisor and appropriate agency staff on compliance issues, and coordinate work with other inspectors.
• Requires flexibility in daily schedule; may require work after normal business hours, on weekends, and on holidays.

Minimum Qualifications
• High School degree or a General Education Diploma (GED).
• Must have a valid driver's license; good driving skills; physical mobility, mental alertness and ability to operate a four-wheel drive vehicle in all types of weather conditions to meet travel and inspection duty requirements.
• Knowledge working with computers.
• Knowledge and experience working with hydraulics, motors, pumps, pressure gauges, operating machinery safely, welding, mechanics, or similar fields.
Preferred Qualifications
• Associates degree with major course work in engineering, mathematics, and/or physical science.
• Preference will be given to candidates with oil and gas experience.
• Leadership skills, problem solving, self-discipline, time management, a positive attitude and motivated.
• Written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse groups of people.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, and GIS mapping software.
• Ability to work in northern plains climate year-round.
