Description
The Health and Safety Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing will be responsible for the following:
- Develop and implement HSE policies, procedures, and programs tailored to aerospace manufacturing operations.
- Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, FAA, and other relevant regulations.
- Manage the investigation and reporting of workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Lead initiatives to reduce workplace injuries and illnesses through hazard identification, risk mitigation, and employee training.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with chemical and hazardous material handling, storage, and disposal regulations.
- Design and deliver safety training programs, including OSHA standards, machine operation, ergonomics, and emergency response protocols.
- Promote a culture of safety by engaging employees at all levels in proactive safety initiatives and feedback processes.
- Coordinate health and wellness programs to enhance employee well-being and prevent occupational illnesses.
- Develop and maintain emergency response plans, including fire safety, evacuation, and first aid procedures.
- Conduct drills and training sessions to ensure preparedness for emergencies.
- Act as the primary contact for regulatory agencies and emergency responders during safety incidents or inspections.
- Stay current on health, safety, and environmental regulations and apply changes to company policies.
- Maintain and prepare required documentation, including OSHA logs, environmental permits, and audit reports.
- Provide detailed safety performance metrics and analysis to management for informed decision-making.
- Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering, production, and HR, to integrate safety into all aspects of operations.
- Supervise and mentor HSE team members, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.
- Lead safety committees and represent the company in industry forums and safety-related events.
Profile
The ideal Health and Safety Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing will have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in health and safety management, preferably in manufacturing or aerospace industries.
- Proven track record of implementing successful safety programs and improving workplace safety metrics.
- In-depth knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other federal and state safety regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to conduct root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for engaging employees and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in HSE management systems and reporting tools.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Offer
The successful Health and Safety Manager - Aerospace Manufacturing will be rewarded with the following:
- Base Salary of $85,000-$120,000 depending on experience
