Description

What You'll Do:

As the Senior Computer Programmer, you will support an innovative and mission-critical NAVAIR program. This position will be based at NAS Patuxent River, MD.

Responsibilities include:

  • Establishing software development processes
  • Defining, implementing, collecting, and analyzing software-related metrics
  • Performing software engineering functions such as requirement analysis and definition, configuration management, quality assurance, unit and system level testing, reliability and maintainability, cost estimating, risk analysis/assessment, and human factors
  • Developing software utilizing Distributed Interactive Simulation (DIS) and High-Level Architecture (HLA) standards

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or an equivalent engineering degree is required
  • Qualified candidates should have a minimum of 7 years of experience in software development associated with modeling and simulation within the training and training systems domains
  • Demonstrated experience with current and emerging software development methodologies, processes, and life-cycle models, (e.g. CMM, CMMI, IEEE-12207, Waterfall, and Spiral)
  • Must be well-versed in the use of scripting languages (JavaScript, VBScript, etc.), object-oriented programming, and eXtensible Markup Language (XML)
  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools is required
  • Knowledge of the Threat Modeling and Analysis Program (TMAP) is preferred
  • Experience with the following technical tools is required: Agile (Scrum; Python (Pandas, Numpy); C++; SQL/SPARQL; Neo4J; JIRA, and machine learning

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • This position requires U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret clearance. Selected candidate will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Salary Range:

  • The estimated salary range for this position will be $165,000 - $185,000 annually, based on an individual's level of experience and skill set. It is our goal at ASEC to provide equitable compensation to all employees.
