LVI Associates are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Structural Engineer to join our client's Structural Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience in structural engineering, with a proven track record of managing complex projects from conception through completion. As a PE licensed engineer in California, you will play a critical role in ensuring the structural integrity and safety of various building and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities: Project Management: Lead and manage structural engineering projects, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings, as well as infrastructure projects such as bridges and tunnels.
Design and Analysis: Perform detailed structural analysis and design using advanced software tools. Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal building codes and standards.
Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff. Review and approve design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients, architects, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and deliver innovative and cost-effective solutions.
Site Inspections: Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing structures, monitor construction progress, and ensure adherence to design specifications and safety standards.
Documentation: Prepare comprehensive engineering reports, proposals, and documentation for project approvals and permits.
Quality Assurance: Implement and oversee quality control procedures to ensure the highest standards of engineering practice.
Sustainability: Integrate sustainable design principles into structural engineering projects to promote environmental responsibility and energy efficiency.
Qualifications: Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering. A Master's degree is preferred.
Licensure: Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in California.
Experience: 10-15 years of relevant experience in structural engineering.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., SAP2000, ETABS, STAAD.Pro). Strong knowledge of building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC).
Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to develop innovative solutions to complex engineering challenges.
Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
Preferred Qualifications: Leadership Experience: Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
Professional Affiliations: Membership in professional organizations such as ASCE (American Society of Civil Engineers) or SEAOC (Structural Engineers Association of California).
Certifications: Additional certifications such as LEED AP (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional) are a plus.
