We are looking for a talented Product Engineering Technician to join our Project Management team in the American Ductile Iron Pipe (ADIP) Division. In this role, you will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and project estimators/detailers to implement and maintain cutting-edge configuration software and JDE systems. Your expertise will be instrumental in supporting a wide range of business activities, including Order Entry, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and more, all geared towards enhancing the American SpiralWeld Pipe (ASWP) product line. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining essential components such as item IDs, routes, material structures, standard cost data files, and estimating rates and factors. Ideal Candidate:
- Product Line Expertise: Demonstrates excellent knowledge of the AMERICAN product line or similar product lines.
- Manufacturing Procedures Proficiency: Possesses extensive familiarity with AMERICAN manufacturing procedures or comparable procedures in a similar industry.
- Cost Analysis Experience: Brings prior experience in cost analysis within a manufacturing setting similar to that of AMERICAN.
- Software Proficiency: Has a minimum of one (1) year of hands-on experience working with configuration software such as Optimus, ASI, JDE, Microsoft Dynamics AX, or other similar business systems.
- System Interaction Understanding: Exhibits a strong understanding of the interactions between different systems, enabling seamless integration and optimization of workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage product data in JDE and SPECS for business support, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop and maintain specifications for product data changes and enhancements.
- Collaborate with Information Services and others to implement changes to product structures and practices.
- Test new software to meet business requirements and ensure seamless integration.
- Coordinate business system changes across departments to align with product functions.
- Integrate Bills of Materials with Manufacturing routes in collaboration with ADIP Project Management.
- Maintain product descriptions and provide knowledge to relevant departments.
- Assist in setting up approved new items and manage Engineering Change Order System.
- Write technical notes for employee training on products, processes, and business details.
- Ensure data integrity, analyze and resolve system problems, and maintain a safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Must exhibit a minimum of two (2) years water works industry product knowledge or similar relevant product knowledge.
- Must exhibit a minimum of two (2) years of manufacturing process knowledge.
- Must exhibit computer skills to include good spreadsheet skills, working in a database environment, word processing, and the ability to use other purchased computer programs.
- Must exhibit an ability to learn.
- Must exhibit the ability to work with confidential information and maintain confidentiality.
- Must exhibit the knowledge, skills, and ability to perform the job duties.
- Must exhibit good command of grammar and spelling.
- Must exhibit the ability to document procedures and changes made to a process and write up detailed work orders for others to carry out in order to accomplish goals set by immediate supervisor.
- Must exhibit the ability to work well with others and present and discuss ideas in a group environment.
