Assist with maintaining quality control for the water and wastewater's electrical instrumentation.Responsibilities and Reporting During an Emergency Situation:Essential Employees may be required to work during a declared emergency. Depending on the nature of the emergency, this may require working around the clock for several days on short notice.Non-Essential Employees will not be required to work during a declared emergency. Duties/ResponsibilitiesThe intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by incumbents of this job. Incumbents may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.Completes installation, maintenance, and configuration of electrical/electronic equipment used in the division. Ensuring the efficient mechanical, instrumentation, and electrical operation of equipment, controls, multiple SCADA systems and remote communications equipment.Completes weekly and daily work orders, monitors the progress of projects, and evaluates and records progress on internal projects.Coordinates efforts with the plant electrician as it pertains to the needs of their direct supervisors. Advises division supervisors and superintendent of technical problems concerning the installation, modification, operation, and repair of electrical/electronic equipment.Assist and/or performs maintenance, configuration, adjustment, and repair to a wide variety of electrical/electronic equipment and control systems at treatment facilities/plants, remote pumping/storage stations, and related structures/assets for the assigned division.Operates and maintains numerous electrical components, switchgear, Variable Frequency Drives (VFD), equipment and breakers which are 3-phase multiple voltages, including and up to medium voltage electrical equipment.Ensures precise functions of flow, analyzer, and instrumentation equipment of various voltages as low as millivolts.Verifies, monitors, and assists with electrical/instrumentation work at remote or offsite locations.Coordinates and participates in emergency repairs after hours.Responds in an emergency or natural disaster to supervise and assist in repairs and troubleshooting processes to keep system functional. Supervises system shutdowns, and diversions of any electrical and instrumentation wastewater, master lift station, reuse equipment failures or spills and overflows threatening public safety.Assist with the installation or replacement of electrical and electronic equipment and oversees repairs.Assist with and Inspects ongoing or completed electrical/electronic work assignments to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and regulations.Assists management with establishing a yearly operational and long-range forecasted budget and maintaining the Council-approved budget for capital projects, capital equipment, vehicles, maintenance, operation, parts/supplies inventory and personnel.Establishes vendor relationships and orders parts and supplies as needed.Complete directed preventive maintenance repairs.Maintain safety inspection guidelines.Assist management with quality control on all instrument repairs and maintenance.Maintain proper operating procedure in the use of specialized hand, power, and diagnostic tools and/or related electrical/electronic field programming hardware/software.Work within and maintain all operational safety policies and procedures.Individual will ensure they are UpToDate and well trained in the safe and effective use of personal protective equipment, tools and vehicles for personal safety.Coordinates interdepartmental activities involving their assigned division's system.Assists in coordinating job assignments with the other division staff, e.g., maintenance mechanics, operators, utility IT programmer analysts, etc.Coordinates and participates in response to emergency repairs.Maintains various maintenance and service records on personnel, work completed, safety, accidents, and tools and equipment used, and develops regular reports from compiled information.Attends various City, interdepartmental and intradepartmental meetings for the purpose of providing/exchanging information on various issues for the assigned utility division.May be required to operate a motor vehicle in performance of assigned tasks.Performs other related duties as required.
