Adjunct Faculty appointments have a salary range of $1,300.00 - 1,466.00 per Equated Contact Hour (ECH) commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Adjunct Faculty teach part-time, advise and mentor students. Hiring needs are dependent on student enrollment and course schedules. Courses available may be during days, evenings, weekends or online. This position is an on-campus, part-time appointment covered by the Parkland College Part-Time Faculty collective bargaining unit.

Essential Job Functions:
- Performs professional duties in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the college.
- Level I Fieldwork Supervision
- Direct supervision of level I fieldwork students at offsite location.
- Collaborates with facility on policies and procedures and needs of clientele.
- Develops or modifies level I fieldwork activities to meet the needs of the clientele.
- Provide feedback to level I fieldwork students on performance and documentation.
- Hold a debrief meeting after each session to both provide feedback and plan for the next session.
- Direct supervision of level I fieldwork students at offsite location.
- Level II Academic Fieldwork Educator functions
- Conducts on-site visits as appropriate.
- Maintains regular contact with assigned onsite FW educators
- Collaborates with Academic FW Coordinator when difficult supervisory issues occur in Level I or II fieldwork
- Conducts on-site visits as appropriate.
- Collaborate with the Academic Fieldwork Coordinator on FW Policies and Procedures.
- Collaborate with the Academic FW Coordinator regarding content in OTA 115, 213 or 217 whichever is applicable.
- Attends annual FW Educator meeting.
- Reads and responds to assigned students' weekly journals.
- Is available for student advising/mentoring for assigned fieldwork students.
- Grade and provide feedback on level I and/or II fieldwork assignments.
- Model and assess students on professional behavior.
- Collaborate with the Academic FW Coordinator and Fieldwork Educator to facilitate and negotiate FW remediation programs for students in jeopardy.
Minimum Requirements:
- Associates degree awarded by an institution that is accredited by a regional or national accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE).
- One (1) year of documented experience in the field of occupational therapy. This experience must include:
- Clinical practice as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
- Understanding of and experience with occupational therapy assistants.
- Clinical practice as an occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant.
- Current Licensure for Occupational Therapy Practitioner (Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant) in Illinois.
- Must pass a criminal background check with fingerprinting, drug test, and nationwide healthcare fraud and abuse scan.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to learn the Parkland information system and new programs as technology changes.
- In an effort to comply with SURS return-to-work restrictions for employers (40 ILCS 5/15-139.5), candidates for employment at Parkland College must either not be a SURS annuitant or must be willing to suspend his/her SURS annuity upon employment. This applies to all SURS annuitants except those receiving their annuity under either the Self-Managed Plan (SMP) or by lump sum payment.
