Job Title: Project Engineer
Job Description
The Project Engineer will support and facilitate project execution, including the installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects. This role involves managing project scope, budgets, schedules, and ensuring compliance with quality and GMP requirements. The Project Engineer will also provide construction management and plant startup assistance, as well as administrative and technical support.
Responsibilities
+ Direct and execute installation, construction, and commissioning of assigned projects.
+ Manage adherence to project scope and secure approvals for all changes based on engineering methodologies.
+ Control project budget, providing cost forecasts and cash flow projections through development of project cost and status reports on at least a monthly basis or as requested by project stakeholders.
+ Maintain project milestone schedules with integrated detailed scheduling as agreed upon in the project charter.
+ Manage data collection and feedback processes for projects.
+ Monitor processes for compliance with quality and GMP requirements in accordance with FDA and OSHA regulations.
+ Provide construction management and plant startup assistance to ensure successful project execution.
+ Evaluate, select, and issue contracts for construction firms through bidding and prequalification vetting processes.
+ Provide self-directed project management of assigned projects from end to end with minimal supervision.
+ Monitor work output from less senior engineers on the project team as assigned.
+ Provide technical support to Factory operations.
+ Support and participate in Nestl Continuous Excellence (NCE) and Total Performance Management (TPM) initiatives.
+ Ensure an attitude of absolute intolerance for unsafe situations, questioning any change for its impact on product safety/quality, people safety, and the environment.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor's degree in engineering.
+ Minimum 7 years of related work experience.
+ 7+ years of experience managing capital projects with increasing responsibility and complexity in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment.
+ Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
+ Ability to analyze data and use problem-solving techniques to resolve issues and implement change.
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
+ Interpersonal skills to complete major projects in a manufacturing environment.
+ Ability to schedule resources effectively for continuous improvement.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 7+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment is preferred.
+ Experience using SAP and/or Microsoft Project is preferred.
+ TPM experience is preferred.
+ Additional consideration for subject matter experts in specific fields of engineering (process, packaging, refrigeration, etc.).
Work Environment
The role may occasionally require weekend and holiday work. The work environment involves managing capital projects in a manufacturing setting, with responsibilities that may include working around existing equipment and implementing tie-ins and demo plans. The position requires adherence to strict safety standards and regulations.
